PRAYER REQUESTS for May 16, 2008

1.  Pray for follow up visits to Majid by other team members, that Majid will continue to be open to conversations about the Word of God and about Isa al Masih.   Last Saturday one team member met with Majid for a few hours and discussed several passages of scripture and was able to leave additional Christian literature.    Majid invited him back for additional dialogue and fellowship.

2.  Pray for our friend Abaz who continues to suffer from kidney failure.   He has had to spend quite a bit of time in the hospital recently for dialysis.   Some of our team members have been able to visit him in the hospital and have given him a copy of the Jesus film in his language.  Pray that Abaz will be drawn to view the video and ultimately drawn to Christ in this time of vulnerability and need.

3.  Pray for Rooz, a banquet manager at a hotel who received (by request) a Christian book from one of our team members.   We recently heard that his wife has cancer, so Rooz has had to give up his job to care for their children.   May he and his family be drawn to Christ during this difficult time.  May our team members be able to effectively and sensitively minister to him as well.

4. Thank God for protection, safety and success for the recent neighbor ministry strategy meetings which were held May 6-9 in the Middle East.   Pray that lasting fruits will come from these meetings, in terms of strategy development, implementation and effective ministry amongst neighbors.

5.  Today’s unreached people prayer focus, from The Joshua Project,  are the Rajput of Pakistan.   Of these 15 to 17 million people, 0% are Christian.   Please intercede for them that:

  • The Holy Spirit to soften the hearts of the Rajputs toward Christians so that they will be receptive to the Gospel, and likewise may Christians be open and sensitive to share the Gospel with their neighbors.
  • God will grant wisdom and favor to the missions agencies that are currently working in Pakistan.
  • The Lord will call people who are willing to go to the Rajputs and share Christ.
  • God will encourage Pakistani believers in this region.
  • God will meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the Rajput, and that even through their lack they might be drawn to Christ.
  • The Lord to raise up strong local churches among the Rajputs.
  • Take authority over the spiritual principalities and powers that are keeping the Rajput bound.
  • Prayer teams will begin breaking up the soil through worship and intercession.
